FAQs
What are sprays?
PEPTIDES EXPLAINED:
Naturally occurring in our bodies, peptides are short chains of amino acids that are the building blocks of our body's proteins. The most commonly recognised proteins found in our skin are collagen, elastin, keratin, and melanin. These proteins are responsible for our skin's foundation, tone, texture, and colour.
Over time, the effectiveness of these naturally occurring proteins can slow down prematurely, or simply diminish as we age; thanks to biomimetic peptides designed to mimic those naturally occurring proteins, we can now incorporate them within our product formulations to reinforce, repair, rejuvenate or maintain.
Melanin is the pigment which makes our skin tan. Naturally, melanin is usually only produced when our skin is exposed to UV light, however the biomimetic peptides used by Melanoboost are designed to mimic melanogenesis without UV exposure which allows you to start the tanning process indoors.
The more abundant your melanin levels are before you head outdoors, the better prepared your skin is for exposure to sunlight in moderate amounts, and the better its ability to tan more effectively with minimal sun exposure.
Each Spray formulation is crafted to maximize the full potential of our Peptide Complex, utilising the highest concentration of each peptide actively. This offers us the approach to tanning by enhancing the skin's ability to tan more effectively with less sun exposure.
Can you use in solarium?
Yes you can use our sprays in a solarium / sunbed / tanning bed.
What does it mean to take a balanced approach to uv exposure?
Taking a balanced approach to UV exposure involves understanding the benefits and risks associated with sun exposure and taking proactive measures to maximise the former while minimising the latter. By knowing your skin type, using adequate sun protection, being aware of the UV index, timing your sun exposure wisely, and avoiding prolonged sun exposure, you can enjoy the sun in moderation.
Will my catch the sun tan fade like a real tan?
This will be dependent on a few things: your natural tanning ability, and how well you care for and maintain the health of your skin.
Our Catch the sun sprays will assist melanin production each time you use it, so with continued daily use combined with regular short bursts ofUV exposure, you can potentially keep a level of tan all year round.
Exposure to the sun and outdoor elements can leave your skin feeling dry, tight and thirsty for moisture. Enriched with skin condtioning and anti-oxidant ingredients, Catch the suns Sun Tanning Oils & Lotions help soothe and protect skin post sun exposure, providing hours of hydration to quench any after-sun tightness and prevent peeling, contributing to a longer lasting tan.
Will it make my freckle, moles or pigmentation darker?
While our products itself doesn't directly impact the appearance of moles, freckles, or hyperpigmentation, it's important to acknowledge the influence of UV exposure on these spots. If you're worried, here's some helpful tips:
Limit UV Exposure: Be mindful of how long you spend in direct sunlight, especially during peak UV hours. Avoid prolonged sun exposure.
Sunscreen Protection: Always apply a broad-spectrum sunscreen with adequate SPF when you're outdoors.
Targeted Protection: If you're concerned about dark spots or hyperpigmentation getting darker, consider using a targeted product on these areas. Blockout is specifically formulated to provide extra protection to areas of concern. Apply a small amount of blockout to identified areas for targeted protection.
Regular Use: Incorporate blockout into your daily skincare routine on areas of concern for consistent coverage and protection of these areas.
By following these recommendations, you can maximise the benefits of Melanoboost while also proactively protecting your skin during sun exposure.
